That was confirmed by Gazprom deputy Valery Golubyov in a press conference on Wednesday.

-We are ready for joint exploration, the powerful company representative underlined. The agreement concluded by the company states that new fields with more than 50 percent gas should be developed by Gazprom, while the fields with more than 50 percent oil should be developed by Rosneft, he said, Oilru reports with reference to Finmarket.ru.

The two companies are both controlled by the Russian state, but are still tough rivals in several regions, including on the shelf.

In that same press conference, Mr. Golubyov also said that Gazprom’s gas reserves will be doubled by 2020 and that the Shtokman field will meet the project launch deadline of 2013.
