During his recent visit to Helsinki, Murmansk Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko highlighted the need for the construction of modern roads to the Finnish border points of Salla and Lotta. He also indicated that he wants the roads to get federal status.
Governor Dmitriyenko accompanied Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during his visit to Helsinki. After that, he participated in the St.Petersburg, where he held meetings with three federal deputy ministers, MBnews.ru reports.
As BarentsObserver reported last week, also the federal road leading to the Norwegian border (the Murmansk-Pechenga-Boris Gleb road ) is under upgrade. Last year about 70 km of the road got new asphalt. This year, several tens of kilometers of more road are expected be upgraded
