Norilsk Nickel emissions illegal

A Russian state official is accused by the General Prosecutor of illegally having granted mining and metallurgy company Norilsk Nickel pollution permissions. The illegal permissions might have inflicted economic damage to the Russian state worth more than one billion RUB.

The Norilsk Nickel company has yet again been caught in an evil-minded violation of Russian legislation”, news site B-port.com reports.

The official accused of the crime works in the Russian Technical Control Agency (Rostekhnadzor). The civil servant is now charged by prosecutors in Krasnoyarsk. The bribe might have inflicted economic damage to the Russian state worth more than one billion RUB (28 million EUR)

Norilsk Nickel is the world’s biggest producer of nickel and a major producer of cupper and palladium. Core production areas are the Taimyr Peninsula in Western Siberia and the Kola Peninsula.
