Inflation up 9,1 percent in Murmansk

According to statistical services in Murmansk, inflation in Murmansk Oblast increased 9,1 percent in the period December 2007 – July 2009. Inflation is highest on food products.

Prices on food stuff only in July increased 3,9 percent, B-port.com reports. Since December last year, inflation on foodstuff increased 11,2 percent. Also on other products inflation picked pace (8,6%). Also prices on public services have increased more this year than the previous years. In the same period in 2007, inflation was 6,6 percent. Despite major pressure on inflation, Russian federal authorities claim that the goal of maximum 11 percent price increase this year will be met.
