In a meeting with several company subsidiaries last week, Mr Miller said that the Nyuksenitsa pipeline, which will connect Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk with the rest of the federal pipeline system will be completed in 2008, a press release from the company informs.

Arkhangelsk has until now been one of the least gasified Russian regions. The new pipeline will help diversify the region’s energy supplies.

The Arkhangelsk-Nyuksenitsa pipeline has been under construction since 1988. The 642,7 km long pipeline will link the region with the powerful Ukhta-Torzhok pipeline. By 2010, the pipeline will have an annual capacity of 2,5 billion cubic meters.
