MURMANSK: Regional politicians from all the four countries in the Barents Region last week assembled to discuss the future of regional cross-border cooperation.
Starting from 1 December 2008 the Agreement on visa simplification between Russia and Norway comes into force, Norwegian General Consul Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, today told representatives of the Norwegian Barents Secretariat.
– The government of Murmansk Oblast fully supports the development of renewable energy. We are ready to help with land acquisitions and tax benefits, said today a representative of the regional Ministry of Industry, Transport and Energy.
These were the greeting words from Yury Evdokimov, the governor of Murmansk oblast, when addressing the audience gathered on 23 May 2008 for celebration of the 70 year anniversary of Murmansk oblast.
