Olympic Gold to Barents

An athlete from Finnmark in Northern Norway was part of the Team that yesterday won women’s 4x5 km cross-country.

Kristin Størmer Steira from Tana in Finnmark was skiing the third lap and did a perfect race. The four Norwegian skiers dominated the event, with Marit Bjørgen skiing the anchor leg after Kristin Størmer Steira. She crossed the line – waving the Norwegian flag - 24 seconds ahead of Germany. Finland got the bronze medal a further 30 seconds in arrears.
