The local court turned down the suit by town mayor Aleksey Smelov and acquitted the newspaper and its journalist Kazanfar Mamedov. Mayor Smelov accused the newspaper for having smeared his reputation in an article critical to public spending in the municipality. He demanded 100.000 RUB in compensation.
