Location

The event is organized by the Northern (Arctic) Federal University and the University of Tromsø as stakeholders in the Barents Working Group on Education and Science. They aim to create a platform for discussion between professors, students, researchers, politicians, representatives from authorities and businesses in the Barents Region.

The links between the different universities and research institutions are some of the best cooperation project during the 20 years of Barents cooperation. Especially research and student exchange between Tromsø in northern Norway and Arkhangelsk in the White Sea area have resulted in the most extensive east-west project portfolio in northern Europe.

At the conference starting in Arkhangelsk on Tuesday next week, representatives from both the foreign ministries in Oslo and Moscow will give speeches in addition to regional players like the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, University of the Arctic and EU’s Arctic Forum.
