Hålogaland Theater comes to Arkhangelsk in March and will show a modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. According to Nina Wester, the Hamlet director the performance reflects gender prejudice of the society. Although you can see feministic topic through the performance, it reveals the notion of a man.
Nina Wester says the performance is very unusual and uncommon, the main character of it is a revolutionary.
“My interpretation of Hamlet does not have that much in common with classic Shakespeare plays, only the plot is left, I will not reveal all the secrets though, you should just see it. I think Russian public will be highly interested in it, they are used to see a different Shakespeare, than we are going to show,” says Nina Wester.
