World’s largest sauna

The larges sauna

The work on what will be the world’s largest sauna started in the Swedish border town of Haparanda this week.

Location

The hotel and spa complex to house the sauna will be ready by June next year. The complex will cost five million euro, according to the website of the Cape East Hotels and Resturants.

The large sauna will look like a Maya temple with twelve levels, including a sky bar at the top, several pools, an ice-pool and entrance to the snow-covered outdoor roof. The complex will have four saunas.

Haparanda is located on the border between Sweden and Finland. Tornio is the Finnish border town on the other side of the river.
