More poor people

32 percent of Russians have enough money for food, but not clothes, according to a opinion survey made by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center.

Location

The number climbed from 28 percent to 32 percent over the last year. The number of Russians below the poverty line - meaning those with not even enough money to buy food -climbed from eight percent in 2008 to 14 percent in 2009, according to the survey. 56 percent of the people reported a decrease in their incomes over the past month. 39 percent said their incomes were unchanged and two percent saw their incomes rising.
