Troms County in northern Norway has cooperated with Murmansk County since 1988. When the agreement for cooperation between the two northern counties was signed it outlines a wide range of long-lasting and fruitful contacts between both official institutions and private businesses.
Shipping, petroleum, education- and science, environment, culture and health cooperation are the main topics. Both Troms and Murmansk are member regions in the Barents Cooperation.
