"Northern Norway unattractive"

The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) has studied the level of business activity in different Norwegian regions. Northern Norway ends up on the bottom of the list with the least successful companies and as the least attractive business conditions.

Location

Every year NHO present what it calls the Norwegian Championship for businesses, where it evaluate the level of business success and business facilitation.

As always it is the larger cities in southern Norway which are most attractive regions and have the most successful businesses. On the other end of the list, the northern Norwegian regions are found.

The largest city in northern Norway, Tromsø, has a relatively good score and is considered an attractive region for business developers. However, for most other northern regions the score is low. The regions with the least attractiveness on NHO’s lits are eastern Finnmark and mid Finnmark.
