Since the company got established in Murmansk last year, up to 45 million NOK has been invested in the city. A concrete plant of 32000 square meters as well as adjacent office premises now stand ready outside the city centre. -Our main objective is to implement large-scale projects on infrastructure development, as well as to supply ready-mixed concrete for the development of Shtokman project – says Atle Berge, general director, expressing ambitious plans for the future. Regional authorities in Murmansk welcome the Norwegian establishment. -With such companies and modern plants for the production of high-quality concrete established here it will be easier to motivate also other enterprises in the region, vice governor Makarov said. – It will give them the impulse for further development in order to meet higher standards, because today they are far from efficient, he added. Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, Consul general of Norway in Murmansk, who was also present at the event, believes Ølen Betong in Murmansk is carrying out in practice what Evdokimov was talking about when he visited Oslo in April this year. It is important to develop economic relations between Norway and North-West Russia and to create a common labor market. As for now, the company has 14 people employed, of whom 3-4 are Norwegians. Gradually, Murmansk is having more investors and partners from both Norway and Russia. Yevgenii Nikora, Chairman of Murmansk Oblast Duma, stressed that Ølen Betong set a good example, showing possibility to run business in Murmansk. It is a positive signal for the investors and partners. On my part I will do my best to help Ølen Betong get support from local authorities, Mr. Nikora highlighted in his speech.
