More than 400 powers, most of them of legislative character within the field of state management and local government, education and science, public health, city planning, housing construction, agriculture, culture, as well as social and pension issues will be transferred to the government bodies, the press release reads.
The law comes as speculations over power sharing relations between President Medvedev and PM Putin swirl both in Russia and abroad. As BarentsObserver reported, Putin recently got extended powers over the country’s foreign policies. He has also got powers over hydrocarbon developments on the country’s northern shelf.
