Russia bought salmon worth NOK 568 million (€71 million) from Norway the first three months this year, an increase by 64% compared with first quarter 2009, reports the Norwegian Seafood Export Council.
Russia is Norwegian salmon’s largest export market outside the European Union. Norwegian salmon is also very popular in the United States and Asia, with an export value increase by 151% and 53%.

Also Norwegian trout had an increase in export to Russia the first quarter. Russia is still the single most important country for import of trout from Norway.
