Free access to research documents on the High North

The University Library of Tromsø is launching a new service that service gives everybody free access to research documents within the thematic scope of the High North.

Location

As the number of open access documents in the world is steadily growing. The content in “High North Research Documents”, as the service is called, too will be dynamic and growing. The service gives everybody free access to research documents where the content is of relevance to the high north.

At the launch, the service includes close to 100 000 documents.

“This will be a very useful service for anyone interested in the High North, be it journalists, decision makers in business and public administration, politicians, NGOs, students and researchers”, says academic librarian Leif Longva at the University of Tromsø.

High North Research Documents has the following address: http://highnorth.uit.no

The service is based on all the open access documents available, from all over the world.

“Here you easily find documents of relevance to the high north, within any subject area, written by scholars anywhere in the world. The service thus includes documents in many different languages. The majority of the documents will, however, be in English”, Longva says in a press release.
