Location

Polyarnye Zori will become the Russian national center for skiing sports like snowboard, freestyle and mogul skiing, website Sport Ekspress writes.

Representatives from the Russian Association for Skiing and the National Liga for Alpine Skiing recently visited the administration of the Kola Nuclear Power Plant to discuss the possibilities for building a national center for these types of sports in the town.

The center will be used for training by Russia’s Olympic team for the 2014 games in Sochi.

Being the cornerstone company in Polyarnye Zori, Kola Nuclear Power Plant is responsible for the management of much of the sport facilities in town. The Lysaya skiing complex has already hosted national competitions on mogul skiing and skiing acrobatics.
