As BarentsObserver reported, Aleksandrovsk was earlier this year formally established on the basis of the three closed military towns of Polyarny, Snezhnegorsk and Skalisty.
Aleksandrovsk hosts Northern Fleet bases and the Nerpa shipyard and will remain a closed military area.
