The authorities in Arkhangelsk Oblast expects that the federal government will invest 1.2 billion RUB in equipment for the new university, Yelena Sbrodova, member of the regional parliament, says to Regnum. As reported previously by BarentsObserver, Arkhangelsk is one of seven Russian cities which have been granted the right to host a federal university. The new university, named the Northern (Arctic) Federal University, will be based on the three existing universities in the city.
