2010 was a very successful year for Kola Mining Company, according to General Director Sergey Selyadin. The company reached all its goals on production of nonferrous metals and nickel.

The advantageous market situation resulted in high incomes that again doubled the company’s taxes to regional and local budgets, Nord-News reports.

The company plans to increase wages for workers with 8 percent from March 1.

Kola Mining Company plans to finish construction of the new underground mine “Severny-Gluboky” in 2011. Construction has been somewhat delayed because of shortage of labor, Selyadin says. The company also plans to finish construction of a a new briquette plant in Zapolyarny this year.

The new mine will increase output from today’s 4,7 million tons per year to 6,9 million tons.
