This was the third year when the city municipality arranges a winter festival called “Christmas Holly Bells.”

Another popular place for winter activities is definitely the museum of northern culture and wooden architecture Malye Korely outside Arkhangelsk. During all the days of New Year and Christmas holidays the museum provided a lot of possibilities for cultural and sports activities.

The special event of this year festival was a concert of unique Norwegian percussionist Terje Isungset famous by his music produced on the ice instruments. Terje’s concert was a sensation of this winter in Arkhangelsk. He was accompanied by two fantastic vocalists Maria Skranes from Oslo and Sara Gaup from Kautokeino. Ice constructions and instruments were made by Eric Muttel, Finland. The visit of Terje Isungset team was arranged by the Honorary Consulate of Norway / Barents Secretariat office in Arkhangelsk and sponsored by the General Consulate of Norway in Murmansk.
