Monastery under construction in Pechenga

The Monastery of the Holy Trifon is being rebuilt on its historical place in Luostari. The church at the monastery in Pechenga is built after drawings of the original church from 1886. -

All the wooden details at monastery are made by hand. -
The iconostasis is already in place in the church. -
The wooden parts of the iconostasis are made by inmates in the Revda prison. -
This is the house where the monks will be living. -
In 1589, six years after Trifon's death, Swedish robbers plundered and burned the monastery. 116 monks were killed in the fire. Their ashes are buried in the monastery. -
Carpenters come from all over Russia to learn old building techniques during the construction of the monastery. -
This is the main house, where the priests and clerical guests will be staying. -

All the logs for the monastery have been especially collected from Karelia and Arkhangelsk. -
