LUKoil wants to team with Statoil on Norwegian shelf

- I hope we can participate in tenders together, says LUKoil head Vagit Alekperov.

In August, Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy approved LUKoil’s pre-qualification for operations on the Norwegian shelf. LUKoil is Russia’s largest private oil company and the first to be pre-qualified for operations in Norway.

Vagit Alekperov says LUKoil will bid for a license to develop petroleum deposits together with Statoil, reports RIA Novosti. Alekperov also says LUKoil and Statoil may also cooperate in developing oil fields in border regions of Russia.
