According to Murmanchanin.ru, which refers Regnum, one of the applications is for the eastern side of the Kola Bay, the site for todays trade and fishery ports. The second includes the western side of the Kola Bay, while a third application includes both sides of the bay. It is expected that any of the zones will be of major importance for Murmansk in its current development of industry, shipping and logistics. The deadline for the applications was 31 March. It is the Ministry of Economic Development, which is to decide the ports which are to get the zones. The free economic zones will get favourable tax and investment conditions, Regnum reports.
