MURMANSK: - Murmansk International Forum is an excellent initiative that will present Murmansk to the international business society as the center for development of the Arctic, said Head of StatoilHydro in Russia Bengt Lie Hansen before the official opening of the forum today.

Location

- Murmansk has always had a special place in Statoil’s activities in Russia, Mr. Hansen said. We opened our first gas station here in 1993, and our current nine gas stations have a total of 25 percent of the marked share in Murmansk Oblast. One of Statoil’s gas stations in Murmansk is actually one of the best in the company’s portfolio.

StatoilHydro is one of three main sponsors for the Murmansk International Economic Forum and will be presenting major Norwegian oil and gas projects Ormen Lange and Snøhvit at the SevTek exhibition, which is also taking place in Murmansk these days.

The first Murmansk International Forum will probably be the largest business event in Murmansk ever. Over 900 people are taking part in the conferences and seminars, which is twice the number the organizers had counted for.
