Sovkomflot is planning to build an oil terminal in Murmansk. The terminal will be based at the shipyard no. 35 and have a capacity of 2 million tons per year.

Russia’s largest shipping company Sovkomflot has already received approval of the plans from the board of directors at Zvezdochka shipyard in Severodvinsk, owner of the shipyard no 35, web site Oilru.com reports.

Shipyard no. 35 is one of two navy shipyards in Murmansk Oblast about to be modernized to be able to handle civilian orders for the oil and gas sector. Other plans for reconstruction of shipyard no. 35 include installation of Russia’s largest crane with a lifting capacity of 20 000 tons, as BarentsObserver reported.
