Russian Natural resource Minister Sergey Donskoy earlier stated the seismic works density in the Pechora and the Barents Seas doesn’t exceed 0,15 km per one square kilometer.
He believes no big oil and gas discoveries can be done without raise of such works, so perspective to handle large scale exploration activity is being postponed to the 2030. According to Donskoy, Norway is a good example of a country with constant raise of seismic drilling, Arctic-info reports.
Russian governmental Gazprom and Rosneft promise to activate its seismic activity. Rosneft plans to start such works on Magadan shelf, and in the Kara and Barents Seas.
