The growing interest of the oil industry comes after several recent discoveries in the Barents Sea. As reported, Statoil in early January announced that the Havis field contains up to 300 million barrels. The field is located only a few kilometers away from Skrugard, the field discovered early 2011.

-With the higher level of optimism, we see that the companies more often turn words into action and get concrete on regional establishments, Mr. Klo says.
He does not want to reveal the names of the companies, but confirms that they are of “considerable size”. –It is fun to see what is happening in the north now, he underlines to NRK. –We are entering exciting times, he adds.
