FSB border guard service says in the press-release that they have the right to put up new checkpoints in the border zone if the situation requires so.
Such checkpoints can again be set up both at the 26 kilometer point and at Titovka.
The checkpoint at Titovka was also removed in early January due to changes in the geographical area of the border zone towards Norway. The adjusted boundary is now north of the two towns of Nikel and Zapolyarny.
