Governor: New agreement is trust-building

The agreement on the delimitation of the Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean strengthens trust between Russia and Norway, Murmansk Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko says.

Location

-The strengthening of trust will lead to easier border-crossing and stimulate economic cooperation and humanitarian contacts between Norway and Russia, the governor writes in a press release. Trustful relations will subsequently lead to joint ideas and joint projects, he believes.

-The signing of the agreement will give a boost to the further development of cooperation between the two countries, both with regard to the development of the Arctic shelf and the operation of the Northern Sea Route, he adds.
