The vessel has been constructed by the Zvezdochka yard in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast. The multi-purpose vessel will be used by the Russian Navy both for search and emergency operations, transport assignments, research missions and towing operations, Regnum reports. The new vessel can reportedly also be used in operations on exploration of the Russian shelf.
