It is Gazprom-subsidiary Gazpromregiongaz, which now is in the final stage of connecting the thermal plant with the Russian gas pipeline grid, a press release from the Arkhangelsk regional administration reads. Together with plant owner TGK-2, the Gazprom unit will make the thermal plant operate on gas from summer this year.
The transformation will significantly help reduce emissions from the plant. Currently, the plant is running exclusively on mazut, the low quality fuel oil.
