New Murmansk railway line discussed

A public hearing on the construction of a new railway line to the western side of the Kola Bay was today organised in the village of Minkino.

Location

The railway line will be constructed in connection with the development of new ports and industrial facilities along the western shore of the bay. The public hearing in Minkino included debates on route alternatives from the railway station of Murmashi-2 to Lavna. A new coal terminal, an oil refinery and other port facilities are planned on the western side of the Kola Bay. Today, about all port facilities in Murmansk are concentrated on the eastern shore of the bay.
