The fire which broke out night to Monday destroyed the local boiler, thus leaving the 400 houses, the school and kindergarten without heating, RIA Novosti reports with reference to regional emergency authorities.
The boiler will have to be fully replaced, spokeswoman for emergency authorities Tatyana Zhukova confirmed.
Teriberka is the town which will host the main activities in the Shtokman gas project in the Barents Sea. By 2014 a local LNG plant as well as other gas infrastructure will be built on the site.
