In the beginning of January BarentsObserver.com presented the first information from Russia’s Security Council on the country’s new national security plan, which highlights the Arctic.
The document with the entire plan will be presented in the first days of February.
Despite Der Spiegel’s approach with presenting the plan as “the explosive document “ there are also more pragmatic words to read in the document to come.
In its early January article BarentsObserver.com quoted the following from the same document’s pre-presentation: “a pragmatic foreign policy, [and] without engaging in expensive confrontation, including a new arms race.”
