Herve Madeo, vice president of Shtokman Development AG in the Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø this week said that the development of the Shtokman gas field is a Russian project which will be developed from Murmansk. Therefore he cannot guarantee that the project will bring any significant activity in the neighboring Norwegian county of Finnmark, according to NRK.
According to Madeo the only exception will be if special operations require use of Polarbase in Hammerfest or Kirkenes Harbor. The same goes for Norwegian subcontractors, which will only be used if they have the best price on the market and offer the best possible competence that Shtokman Development AG is looking for in special operations.
