Gazprom has in 2008 invested about 24 billion RUB in Russian regional projects, Mr. Golubyov, the deputy head of the company’s Management Committee said. Among the projects is the construction of the Nyuksenitsa-Arkhangelsk pipeline, which is to boost the level of gas consumption in the northern region. In 2009, the sum will not be less, Mr. Golubyov said, adding that more regions will be added to the company’s gasification programme.
