The press secretary of the company says to RIA Novosti that the floating NPP will come into operation in Mid-2011, about half a year after schedule. The power plant is currently under construction in the Sevmash mechanical plant in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast. According to Rosenergoatom, the turbine generators are already 60 percent finished, while the reactors are 50 percent finished and the hull 30 percent finished. Russia plans to build a total of seven floating NPPs by year 2015. Several countries have showed interest in power plants.
