Despite positive trends in the Finnish labour market, unemployment figures remain high in the northern part of the country. In the province of Lapland, unemployment rates stand at 11,1 percent.
Meanwhile, unemployment is dropping in Finland seen as a whole. In April, the national unemployment rate , stood at 5.8 percent compared to 6,2 percent in March, figures from Statistics Finland confirm.
