According to Deputy Governor Nikolay Bereznoy, the road will be completed in the course of 2008. The Prirechny road is one of two regional roads leading to the Norwegian border. About 20 km of road remains to be upgraded.
Mr. Bereznoy spoke in a seminar organised by the Norwegian - Russian Chamber of Commerce in Oslo today
The upgrade of the road could help regional authorities channel cross-border car traffic away from the northern E-105 route. While the E-105 is under federal control, the southern Prirechny road is under the management of regional authorities.
