The governor believes the development of major regional projects like the Shtokman field and the Murmansk Transport Hub will attract huge investments, and subsequently boost salary level in the region. The average salary level in Murmansk Oblast in 2007 was 15.100 RUB (418 EUR) During his visit to the municipalities, Governor Yevdokimov also said that life expectancy will improve, following not only the higher salaries, but also better quality of drinking water in the region. Previously, representatives of the regional Department of Economic Development has forecasted a 20 percent annual increase in the regional salary level.
