One of the first things Sweden’s Foreign Minister did after waking up early Sunday morning was sending a clear message to his followers on Twitter; “Presidental election in Russia today. Well, sort of…”

The twit was posted at 6.59 AM.

Unlike Norway, the Swedish Foreign Ministry has not posted any official statement about Vladimir Putin’s landslide victory in Sunday’s presidential election.

Carl Bildt however writes on his blog on Monday that “there is no doubt that Putin won the presidential election in Russia”…, but… as Bildt writes ”the preliminary report from OSCE election observers are talking about a process that was clearly twisted to give an advantage to him in particular.”

Bildt says he hopes to see an intensive monitoring of the various reports of irregularity in the election processes that are reported.
