Crisis made Russian economy more grey

The financial crisis has made the Russian economy more grey, leader of the country’s statistical service maintains.

Mr. Aleksandr Surinov confirms in an interview with newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta that the Russian economy has got more grey since the financial crisis embraced the country late 2008. According to him, about 20 percent of the country’s economy can now be characterized as grey, meaning that the activities are not being reported for to the authorities.

Newspaper Vedomosti reports that among the grey parts of the economy is production of illegal services and goods and as well as concealed production by unregistered companies.
