Monday and Tuesday this week Lord Hunt visited Murmansk and the Russian northern fleet’s nuclear waste storage facility in the Andreeva Bay and discussed nuclear safety cooperation between the United Kingdom and Russia.
Wednesday, the Minister of State had a meeting with the Norwegian Barents Secretariat in Kirkenes. At the secretariat Lord Hunt learned about the regional Norwegian-Russian cooperation in the north, and general issues related to energy exploration in northern Norway and Russia.
