Gazprom 2009 export fell 13 percent

Russian gas exports in 2009 totaled 205,826 billion cubic meters, which is 13 percent less than in 2008.

Location

Exports to the EU and “far abroad” amounted to 140,44 billion cubic meters, which is a decline of 11,56 percent from 2008, Oilru.com reports with reference to RIA Novosti. Exports to the Baltic countries and the “near abroad” totaled 65,586 billion cubic meters, down 17 percent from 2008. The last quarter of 2009 did however bring the company positive export figures, and the Gazprom management now hopes for a restoration of export volumes to Western Europe and the EU by 2012.
