President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg have discussed the establishment of a 30 kilometer borderzone on both sides of the Norwegian-Russian border during their meetings in Oslo. However, the negotiations between Norway and Russia prior to the meeting have not been able to solve all disagreeements.
According to NRK it seems that the disputed issue is how to handle third country citizens living in the border zone.
Though the two countries have not been able to sign a final agreement, both Medvedev and Stoltenberg have emphasized that there will be a borderzone agreement as soon as the negotiations are finished.
