Finnish air force meets NATO standards

The Finnish air force has been established as the first NATO Partnership for Peace member to meet the standards set by the alliance.

Location

Finland decided in 2004 that by 2010 its air force should re ach preparedness for international missions. Now, after a series of tests carried out in Germany this autumn, NATO confirms that the goal has been reached, reports Helsingin Sanomat.

The newspaper writes that this is a major step forward in the already close practical cooperation between Finland and NATO.
