The rating, which is composed by the newspaper Novy Vest Kurier, shows that the eleven most powerful in the region serve in the state apparatus, either in the regional administration, the regional parliament or in federal bodies of power. The first industrialist on the list – Yevgeny Muravyov from the Kolskaya GMK – comes only on 12th place.
The list is topped by Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko, followed by his deputies Sergey Smityushenko and Aleksey Savin. The governor’s adviser Leonid Davidov is on fourth place, while the most powerful woman – Deputy Governor Olga Lezhenkina – is on fifth place.
The region’s Federal Inspector Vladimir Losev is numer six, while Chairman of the regional parliament – Yevgeny Nikora – is number seven.
The region’s rich and powerful representative in the Federation Council – Andrey Gurev – is on 10th place.
The rating includes four women and ten representatives of regional companies. Interestingly, although having left Murmansk several months ago, former Governor Yury Yevdokimov is still on the list of the most powerful in the region. He now works as leader of a film studio in Sankt Petersburg.
